Pistol Shooting Fundamental

This 1 day/8 hr course is designed to introduce the fundamental concepts of combat and defensive shooting to individuals who are new to TAC-1. The class aims to prepare students for more structured training in defensive shooting.  Emphasis will be placed on developing a solid understanding of safe pistol handling and the fundamentals of marksmanship, utilizing an internal attentional focus approach.  Participants will learn essential skills, including habitual chamber checks, safe loading and unloading,  drawing and presenting from the holster, key elements of marksmanship, assessing and scanning the environment, and clearing malfunctions.

Objective: The objective is to provide adequate knowledge to own and operate a handgun safely for personal protection.

PREREQUISITE: TAC-1 SAFE START or equivalent is highly recommended.  You must know the legal requirements for deadly force, nomenclature of the pistol and an understanding of cycle of operation of the pistol. You must be able to safely handle your pistol to begin in our Defensive Handgun series.

CLASS FORMAT: This (8 hrs) one day training will be held  on the live fire range. 0800 to 1630hrs
