Description

This 8-hour course will equip students with the fundamentals of safety both on and off the range, principles of personal defense, the use of deadly force, a combative mindset, situational awareness, and the fundamentals of marksmanship through demonstrations and practical exercises. Participants will learn safe loading and unloading techniques, how to check the chamber, draw the firearm from the holster, clear malfunctions, and assess their surroundings while applying the proper elements of marksmanship.

Recommended Prerequisite: TAC-1 SAFE START or equivalent is highly recommended.  You must know the legal ramifications of deadly force, the nomenclature of the pistol, and an understanding of the cycle of operation of the pistol. You must be able to safely handle your pistol to begin in our Defensive Handgun series.
