Rifle Shooting Fundamental

This is an entry level course for carbine shooters. This class is geared for those who have not had any formal carbine instruction. It is structured to introduce the minor caliber, optically aided/unaided rifle skills and technical concepts. The program is designed to target the individual who may be deploying this weapon system for personal defense. Students will learn about one of the most popular weapon systems that law enforcement agencies across the country are incorporating into their arsenal. Students will learn: essential law pertaining to AR (California), a brief history, nomenclature, mechanical operation, care & cleaning, preventive maintenance, safety, stance, application of two points sling, manipulations, safe load and unload techniques, zeroing iron sights, sight alignment and trigger control, and shooting positions & stable platforms.

Objective: â€‹The student will develop skills that are necessary to safely operate and maintain this weapon system and  increase their accuracy and confidence for defensive application.

PREREQUISITE: TAC-1 SAFE START, Pistol-1(a) or equivalent is highly recommended.  You must know the legal requirements for deadly force, nomenclature of the pistol and an understanding of cycle of operation of the pistol. You must be able to safely handle your pistol to begin in our Tactical Rifle series.

CLASS FORMAT: This (8 hrs) one day training will be held  on the live fire range. 0800 to 1630hrs
